Norman Mackay

Norman is a minster with the Free Church of Scotland. He is married to Alison and they have two sons, Nathan and Peter. Norman came to faith in 1978 having first being introduced to the Gospel through tract distribution on his way to a night club in Glasgow.

Before entering the Free Church of Scotland Norman was a Baptist minister in Ayrshire, and prior to this he and Alison were pioneer missionaries into what was formerly known as Soviet Central Asia.

In 2013 The General Assembly of The Free Church of Scotland commissioned him to return to his native Govan as a Church Planter. Govan is widely recognised as an area of multiple deprivation, with drug abuse and poverty as defining factors in the life of the community. Since 2013 he has spearheaded this work which has gone from zero in terms of funding, resources and personnel, to a fully fledged and reasonably self-sufficient congregation, exercising multiple ministries to bring the Gospel to the people of Govan.
